Why Tammer Bany is unlikely to feature in West Brom's pre-season clash vs Bromley
Tammer Bany is expected to miss out on West Brom’s pre-season clash with Bromley on Friday evening.
The Jordan international was not involved in the Baggies’ first pre-season game against Sheffield Wednesday.
He is working his way back to fitness after a cruel campaign last time out which was riddled with injuries.
West Brom News has regularly provided updates on Bany’s condition and the wider implications it has for Albion.
He will be hoping to kick on and put his issues behind him, and become a valuable asset for James Morrison’s side.
Now, an update has been provided on his availability for the contest with the League One outfit in Portugal.
What has been said about Tammer Bany's availability for West Brom vs Bromley?
Bany will have been hoping to have made enough of a recovery to come back into the fold.
However, it appears that is not the case for the man who the Throstles signed for a £3.3million fee.
Express and Star journalist Lewis Cox provided an update on his X page ahead of the friendly on 17 July, which did not bode well for the player.
He said: “There is a squad of 28 out here, not sure all will feature and have minutes later, I don’t imagine that will be the case.
“The likes of Tammer Bany probably won’t feature as he builds himself up.
“Maybe he will get a couple of minutes from the bench, to be fair.”
That does not sound promising for the 22-year-old's chances of playing against Andy Woodman's side, who won League Two last season.
Why Bany needs to get back on the comeback trail quickly
Bany needs to bounce back from his nightmare start to life in the Black Country.
If he fails to make an impression this season, the gamble that the B71 side took on him will start to really look bad.
So far, he has played eight times for the club, with just one assist in those matches, which definitely has not paid off their investment from February 2025.
It looks increasingly likely that Albion will be forced to cut their losses and part ways with the player, as he can never seem to stay fit.
Morrison will hope that the medical staff can find a solution that allows the former Randers man to play a part this season, but the longer he misses out on pre-season, the less chance there is of that happening.
It looks like an expensive mistake from the recruitment team, one that may well not eventually work out.
