Filip Krovinovic set for Matheus Pereira reunion five years on since West Brom bromance

Filip Krovinovic and Matheus Pereira are set to meet again after their fruitful spell at West Bromwich Albion.

The two built a strong relationship during their time with the Baggies.

Having spent 18 months at the Albion, the Brazilian attacker and Croatian midfielder struck somewhat of a bromance in B71.

Pereira can be regarded as a modern cult hero at The Hawthorns, helping the club win Premier League promotion alongside Krovinovic in the 2019-20 campaign.

While the 30-year-old forward went on to have an impressive season in the English top flight, the defensive midfielder's loan spell at the Black Country outfit at Benfica was cut short in January.

The two will now meet again soon, with the Brazilian attacker currently playing for Cruzeiro.

Krovinovic has completed a move to Gremio this transfer window after a few seasons at Hajduk Split.

The 30-year-old has joined the Brasileirao club on a free transfer after his contract at Stadion Poljud ended.

On 18 October, Arena do Gremio will host Cruzeiro in a league fixture, and the former West Brom teammates will certainly have to park their bromance to the side.

Pereira and Krovinovic will definitely go up against each other if they play the game, as the defensive-midfielder will likely be tasked with stopping the Brazilian number 10.

It will be interesting to see how the two receive each other in Brazil after striking their partnership at The Hawthorns.
