Former West Brom star Jed Wallace has joined Bristol City - and history does not suggest the move will work out all that well.

The 32-year-old made 150 appearances for the Baggies, with 16 goals and 16 assists in that time.

He took the captain's armband in August 2023 after Jake Livermore's exit, and kept it until he departed as a free agent.

The Robins have now snapped up Wallace, confirming a deal on Friday, and he will come up against the Baggies twice in the Championship.

He will return to The Hawthorns on 28 November, before welcoming his former team to Ashton Gate on 13 March.

West Brom News examines every other player to have made the move from West Brom to Bristol City and how successful they were.

Who moved from West Brom to Bristol City before 2010

Stuart Naylor was the first man make the move in 1996, after making 409 appearances for Albion.

His time with City was not as enjoyable, as he made just 37 appearances for the Reds.

He would finish his career making sporadic appearances for Mansfield Town, Exeter City and Rushden & Diamonds.

Another who went directly from West Brom to the Ashton Gate side before 2010 was Tony Butler.

He initially joined them on a loan deal in 2002, before linking up on a permanent deal.

He had played 76 times for the Throstles, and featured 116 times for City, winning the Football League Trophy in the 2002-03 season.

The three other players to have made the move since 2017

Four players have made the switch since 2017, Jonathan Leko, Chris Brunt, Taylor Gardner-Hickman and now Wallace.

Leko was one of the most promising talents in the Baggies' academy, and made 23 appearances for the club.

He spent the 2017–2018 season on loan with Bristol City, playing just 11 times.

Brunt is an iconic figure in the Black Country, with 421 matches played for Albion.

He spent the 2020–2021 campaign with City, making 14 appearances, before calling time on his playing career in the summer after leaving the club in January 2021.

Gardner-Hickman came through Albion's academy, playing 60 times for the B71 club, before initially joining City on loan.

He would make that move permanent at the end of the season, and made 40 appearances in his time with the Robins before moving on.

It does not provide the best example for Wallace, as he becomes the fourth player to make the move in recent years.
