Reliable journalist explains 'undisclosed fee' part of Callum Robinson swap deal
West Brom have finally confirmed the signing of Sheffield United winger Callum Robinson.
Last season's loanee has moved back to the Hawthorns permanently, with Oliver Burke going the other way in a straight swap deal between the Premier League duo.
Interestingly, when confirming the deal on Twitter, the Blades also claimed that the deal for Robinson included an undisclosed fee.
That wouldn't make it a straight swap, with the Baggies presumably parting with cash in the deal - although that may not be the case.
Steve Madeley of the Athletic has explained the deal and claimed that there will be no money passed between the two clubs for either player upfront.
The reliable journalist reported that there will be various add-ons based on goals and appearances which could see money exchange hands further down the line, those being explained as an "undisclosed fee" as it stands.
The 25-year-old forward has signed a five-year contract at the Hawthorns, and directly replaced a player who has been shipped out on loan in consecutive seasons.
Robinson admitted in his first interview that he was delighted, with discussions having taken place all summer with the Baggies clearly determined to get this one over the line.
Luke Dowling has pulled off a masterclass with this one, completing what is basically a free-transfer for a player who moved for £7million last season.
The Baggies clearly have high hopes for Robinson, even referencing CR7 in their reveal video - if he is anything similar to Ronaldo, we'll stop laughing and just enjoy.
