West Brom: Carter Pinnington plan becomes clear as new training footage drops

West Bromwich Albion appear to have made a quick decision over Carter Pinnington's next steps.

The 19-year-old defender completed a move from Liverpool to The Hawthorns in June.

He has initially joined the Baggies on a free transfer with the two-time Premier League winners holding a sell-on clause and performance based add-ons.

The teenager could prove to be a bargain addition with that in mind as part of a three-year deal.

There have been plenty of questions surrounding the defender and how he will be utilised in B71.

It now appears that a plan is already in place for Pennington as James Morrison begins his pre-season preparations.

The defender is yet to make a senior career appearance having come through the Anfield academy.

He has been a regular with the Reds' youth sides, clocking up 68 appearances in four years for their under-21s.

That has prompted an expectation that he will go straight into a similar role after his Black Country switch.

Those initial thoughts can now drift somewhat after West Brom shared early images from training.

In a post on Sunday, Pinnington can be seen in a group huddle as Morrison delivered instructions in the early stages of pre-season.

The summer signing can be seen alongside Krystian Bielik as part of first team training in B71.

That points towards him having a more senior role at The Hawthorns moving into his debut campaign where he could go on to make an impact.

What can West Brom expect from Pinnington next season?

There is very little known within the Albion fanbase about the defender due to his lack of first-team minutes

That can't necessarily come as a surprise given the level of competition he has faced at Anfield over the years.

He now has a chance to prove what he's all about at The Hawthorns.

Supporters can expect him to be adept on the ball as he his known for playing out from the back as an academy star.

Pinnington is also famed for his strength at the back that could help him acclimatise quickly to the Championship.

It seems that he is looking to make an impression on Morrison in the first-team set-up, so the Baggies faithful may be ready to see a lot of him in the upcoming campaign.

Of course, he won't be thrown straight into the deep end, but the door has certainly be opened by Morrison and the Albion.
