West Bromwich Albion have been told to sign Pierce Charles once he returns to Manchester City.

The Sky Blues are in talks with Sheffield Wednesday over taking the Northern Ireland international back to the Etihad Stadium.

After the Owls' relegation from the Championship, their best players may be looking for a way out of Hillsborough this summer.

While Man City could complete a deal for Charles soon, West Brom fans want to see their team come into the loan equation.

Gianluigi Donnarumma is the undisputed number one for City, with James Trafford's future uncertain as he looks for regular minutes elsewhere.

City are expected to decide whether they will keep the 20-year-old or let him develop on loan elsewhere, and Baggies supporters have presented their case.

West Brom told they have two options after Pierce Charles update

West Brom fans want their club to be "all over" Charles' signing if Man City let him leave on a temporary transfer.

One supporter on X suggested that the Baggies have been presented with two options — they either bring Alex Palmer back or get the Sheffield Wednesday prospect.

Another fan simply wrote "please, please, please", with a loan considered ideal if the Albion are unable to reach an agreement with Ipswich Town over Palmer.

Some are of the opinion that Charles would easily take the number one spot from Max O'Leary, who has recently extended his stay at The Hawthorns after helping James Morrison avoid relegation in B71.

James Morrison's goalkeeper department assessed

West Brom signed O'Leary in the winter transfer window as Josh Griffiths and Joe Wildsmith failed to convince in between the sticks during a difficult season.

With the Republic of Ireland international committing his future in B71, the Baggies have also signed 32-year-old Matt Ingram to reinforce their goalkeeping department.

It would make sense for the Baggies to add another shot-stopper to their ranks for next season and it will be interesting to see whether The Hawthorns' hierarchy make any moves.

Shilen Patel is under pressure to deliver at the Black Country outfit after a season that saw them finish one place above the relegation zone.

Charles would be a real upgrade, and these are the sorts of opportunities that come up out of nowhere.

Will West Brom take it? It's over to them.
