West Brom target Amario Cozier-Duberry has previously been compared to Bukayo Saka by Jack Wilshere.

The Brighton star is currently on loan to Bolton Wanderers, where he has had an excellent start to the new campaign.

To date, he has netted six times in 15 League One matches, while also picking up seven assists.

This comes as Ryan Mason looks to solve the issue regarding West Brom’s bluntness in front of goal, with stars like Josh Maja failing to find the net.

Jack Wilshere: Amario Cozier-Duberry reminds me of Bukayo Saka

Before Cozier-Duberry moved to Brighton in 2024, he came through Arsenal’s academy.

One of the winger’s coaches in this academy was Wilshere, who helped oversee the development of the 20-year-old.

This proved to be a success, with the youngster appearing on the first-team bench multiple times, but never made the jump to get his full debut for the Gunners.

  • Cozier-Duberry joined Brighton in 2024
  • Last season, he spent the campaign on loan to Blackburn Rovers, making 22 appearances
  • Currently, Cozier-Duberry is on loan at Bolton Wanderers, where he has had a great start to the season

On 4 April 2023, the current Luton Town manager spoke to The Athletic about Cozier-Duberry, where he was full of praise for the upcoming star.

“Amario is very exciting and Mikel likes him,” Wilshere stated. “He reminds me of Bukayo Saka, plays in the same position as him, needs to get better with his decision-making like Bukayo did, but he’s definitely exciting.

“In some moments, he’s unplayable. You give him the ball, and he can make things happen.

“You can set up a team and have a game plan, but when you’ve got individuals like that you’ve got a chance.”

How good is Cozier-Duberry?

According to Fotmob on 12 November, Cozier-Duberry is an extremely capable attacker.

The winger is dominant up top, especially in front of goal, while also creating numerous chances for his teammates.

With West Brom’s big issue being that chances aren’t being taken, it is clear that the addition of Cozier-Duberry could help overcome this problem.

Hopefully, the Baggies are able to convince Brighton to end the youngster’s loan at Bolton early so they can bring him into The Hawthorns before the season ends.

If so, West Brom’s promotion hopes may be back on track as they look to finally return to the Premier League.
