Isaac Price looks set to sign for West Brom on a permanent deal from Belgian side Standard Liege having hijacked the deal from Preston, according to Sacha Tavolieri.

Tavolieri reported via his X account [18 January] that West Brom have won the race to sign Northern Ireland midfielder Price ahead of Championship rivals Preston after the Baggies agreed a permanent deal.

Price looks set to become Albion's first signing of the winter transfer window, just a day after the Baggies announced the appointment of Tony Mowbray as manager.

The 21-year-old has already agreed personal terms with the Baggies and will undergo a medical on Monday [20 January].

West Brom set to sign Isaac Price

Now that the managerial uncertainty has been curtailed, the Baggies can finally turn their attention to the winter transfer window as they look to bolster their squad ahead of a promotion push.

Price is an excellent start for the Baggies and will provide with an injection of quality in midfield while broadening the depth that Mowbray will have at his disposal.

West Brom can not afford to stop there if they are to maintain their hopes of achieving a top-six finish.

West Brom, The Hawthorns
The Hawthorns has been the home of the Baggies since 1900.

Given the injury sustained by Josh Maja, the arrival of a striker is still an absolute necessity with other areas of the squad also needing attention.

All eyes will be on The Hawthorns in the coming weeks as their transfer window kicks in.
