West Brom move mountains to sign Adam Armstrong in late deal
West Brom are doing "all they can" to sign Adam Armstrong before the 11pm transfer deadline, according to DOOD.
The Albion news source posted on X (3 February) claiming work is being carried out tirelessly in the background at The Hawthorns to secure a striker, which could be either Southampton's Armstrong or another option.
Tony Mowbray is keen to add to the attacking weaponry at his disposal with top scorer Josh Maja sidelined.
"We're doing all we can behind the scenes for him or another striker," DOOD shared.
West Brom haven't given up on Adam Armstrong
West Brom are looking to maximise every waking hour of the winter transfer window, looking to deliver one last attacking signing with Tammer Bany looking as good as done (DOOD, 3 February).
Armstrong has garnered interest from multiple Championship clubs either on loan or permanent deals, and Albion have also had to bat off transfer interest in their own players, notably Tom Fellows.
While Southampton have struggled since knocking out West Brom and later Leeds United in last season's play-offs to return to the Premier League, Armstrong has expertise in the Championship.
The 27-year-old has scored 65 goals across his last three seasons competing in the second tier, during his time at both Saints and Blackburn Rovers.
Mowbray has plenty to offer in attack, but as for out-and-out strikers, they appear to have a missing puzzle piece while Maja is out and could do with springing the latest of surprises.
