West Brom may be forced to rethink their academy strategy after the news of Isaiah Bryan's exit.

Brown has been with The Hawthorns club for seven years, but he has deregistered from the Black Country club's Under-14s.

He has played above his age group and won the Player of the Tournament at an international competition in the past.

While he may be a relatively unknown name, due to the age level he plays at, his departure may set alarm bells ringing in the West Midlands.

His loss could be the start of a pattern for the Baggies, which would not be good for their future.

Shilen Patel and Co need to combat it as soon as possible, and show faith in Albion's youth.

What is the latest on Isaiah Bryan's West Brom future?

Bryan is understood to have ended his association with the B71 outfit.

A report from the Talent Hunter, a well-known academy source, over the weekend claimed that he has his cancelled his official registration with the Throstles and will seek other opportunities.

The situation has been labelled as "very interesting" and one to "keep an eye on."

Why do West Brom need a rethink?

West Brom can't constantly lose their best youth prospects, that would be disastrous.

The senior squad currently only has two academy graduates, Josh Griffiths and Ollie Bostock.

They need to rethink their strategy, and give more chances to their talented young players, otherwise, they may also seek an exit like Bryan has.

If youngsters see that is no pathway to regular football with the first-team, then they will reconsider their future at the club, and may look for opportunities somewhere else.

They will likely be entitled to compensation as they are classed as a Category One academy, but that may end up providing little consolation.

The overall amount will be approximately £194,000, as they will receive £3,000-per-year for the Foundation Phase (U9 to U11), and for the Youth Developmental Phase, the Baggies would receive £45,000 for U12, £60,000 for U13, and £80,000 for U14.

However, that is no good if they are losing the best talents at their disposal, so they need to show that there is a way to make it into the senior ranks.
