West Brom are set to miss out on West Ham attacker Albian Ajeti after they were linked with a move for the Switzerland international.

According to the Guardian, 23-year-old Ajeti is set to join Scottish champions Celtic on a season-long loan as David Moyes begins clearing out a number of players who have failed to impress him at the London Stadium.

This comes after reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee told the West Ham Way podcast that Slaven Bilic was an admirer of Ajeti, a year after originally trying to sign him [Express & Star] before he joined the Hammers in an £8million deal.

Since West Ham beat West Brom to signing Ajeti last summer, the former Basel striker has failed to score a single goal in any of his 12 appearances for the London club.

One of those appearances came against the Baggies in the FA Cup, and the Guardian reports that display by Ajeti played a role in Moyes' decision to get rid of him this summer.

Based on Ajeti's form at the London Stadium, West Brom have not exactly missed out here.

Bilic does need to add more firepower to his squad in the summer transfer window with Chalie Austin, Hal Robson-Kanu and Kenneth Zohore not really good enough for the top-flight any more.

Between them, they struggled for goals in the Championship so getting in someone who can net at least 12 times in the Premier League is a priority for Bilic.

Ajeti's record of zero goals and zero Premier League starts for a team that came close to relegation this season is hardly one that Bilic and Luke Dowling should be impressed by.
