West Brom seek to benefit from Michael Parker and his next career move.

The 21-year-old departed The Hawthorns in February after failing to make a single first-team appearance.

He was never given a senior opportunity with the Baggies after moving from Burnley in 2024.

Things didn't work out for him in the Black Country, sparking a bizarre move to Swedish outfit Orgryte.

Parker has proven himself in Allsvenskan and could have the key to a positive summer for James Morrison's side.

Michael Parker could depart Orgryte for over £4m

There weren't many complaints when the defender moved on from B71, especially after a failed loan spell with Hereford.

He didn't exactly rip up any trees in National League North while making just 11 appearances between August and November 2025.

That made it all the more surprising that Orgryte moved for his signature, but that risk has certainly paid off.

He has become an excellent member of their side since his February move and is now attracting interest from the Premier League and beyond.

Rudy Galetti reported on Wednesday that Sunderland, Newcastle, Brentford, FC Copenhagen, Eintracht Frankfurt, Sturm Graz, Sporting CP and RB Salzburg are interested, with bids expected soon.

Offers in the region of £2.5million and £4.3m are expected as a summer move is a very realistic possibility this summer.

That may leave many Baggies fans annoyed to have let him go, but it may still prove to be a boost.

Parker sale could improve summer transfer prospects at West Brom

Letting go of a player who could soon be playing in a top league elsewhere in Europe is certainly frustrating.

Considering how much The Hawthorns outfit struggled last season, it does represent a blow.

The only plus point is that the Baggies were smart enough to include a sell-on clause in the sale to Orgyte.

These sort of deals are typically in the region of 20 per cent, so a sale of £4.3m could land Albion £860,000.

That will come as a welcome boost to Morrison's summer budget and could unlock a transfer that may have been looking difficult previously.
