‘Pure magic’ – These West Brom fans react to display from 27y/o v Cardiff
West Brom went back to the top of the table with a 4-2 win over Cardiff on Saturday but Slaven Bilic’s men didn’t make it an easy watch for the home crowd.
They were 3-0 up until the 75th minute, when Danny Ward scored his first and then added a second in the 86th minute to set-up a nervy finale.
However, Romaine Swayers popped up with his first goal for the Baggies since his triumphant return to the club in a near-£3m move from Brentford in the summer.
The 27-year-old really impressed on Saturday, adding another level of grit and determination into his game and making one pass to Charlie Austin that was absolutely spectacular.
For us it was his best display of the season, shading his turn in the 4-2 win against Huddersfield, and Bilic is looking like he’s crafted a solid side that’s more-than-capable of a top-two finish.
The Express & Star said it was an “excellent” display from the midfielder and that Sawyers showed a striker’s finish at the end.
Here are the best reactions to Sawyers’ display on Saturday:
