Report: West Brom want to sign 23y/o loanee on permanent deal in January

West Brom are looking to get a permanent deal for Matheus Pereira done as early as the January window after the 23-year-old attacker has enjoyed a fast start at The Hawthorns.

Pereira arrived on loan from Sporting CP in the summer and West Brom negotiated an £8m option to buy.

Now, according to Portuguese outlet Report (as reported by Sport Witness), the Baggies are looking to get this done sooner rather than later.

The report claims that Pereira is keen to make his move to The Hawthorns permanent, which means the deal should be a formality.

This is great news. Pereira has been a big part of the Baggies promotion push this season and his form has helped Slaven Bilic’s side move to the top of the table.

He scored his first goal in the 2-0 win away at QPR and added another in the 4-2 win against Cardiff at the weekend, when he curled a beautiful shot into the net from outside the penalty area.

He’s provided four assists too, and was awarded the highest rating of any player in the game against Blackburn.

Since then he just seems to be getting better and better and was given 8.05, 7.46 and 8.14 ratings in the last three games. [WhoScored]

He’s a popular player at West Brom and getting him on a permanent deal will be a huge boost for the second half of the season.
