'Absolutely' - Many West Brom fans urge club to re-sign 28-year-old in January

Dwight Gayle was one of the best loan signings that West Brom had made in a long time when Darren Moore struck a season-long deal with Newcastle United last year.

The 28-year-old scored an impressive 24 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions for the Baggies, firing them to a fourth-place finish before Albion’s promotion bid was eventually halted against bitter rivals Aston Villa in the Championship play-off semi-finals.

It is no surprise at all, in that case, to see a lot of West Brom fans on Twitter urging the club to re-sign Gayle from Newcastle in the January transfer window now that the centre-forward has recovered from injury.

Gayle made Steve Bruce’s matchday squad for the first time this term when he was named on the bench against Manchester United before the international break started and while the ex-Crystal Palace striker failed to make an appearance, it now seems as though he is back and ready to play again.

A section of Albion fans have now taken to Twitter to show that they want to see Gayle back at The Hawthorns in the winter to finish what he started last season.
