These West Brom fans react as Robson-Kanu signs new deal

Hal Robson-Kanu has signed a new deal that will keep him at West Brom until 2021 and fans have been left bemused and some a little annoyed.

The 30-year-old striker joined on a free transfer from Reading in the summer of 2016 and he hasn’t exactly been prolific.

He’s made 99 appearances for the Baggies and he’s still not in double figures yet, with just nine goals.

The last goal he scored was in February and he’s provided nothing in the way of attacking returns this season.

According to WyScout, his total xG for the season stands at a pitiful 0.38 in five appearances. That’s around a goal every 15 appearances if he can stick true to expectation.

A new contract is the sort of news that’s normally celebrated by fans and it was announced by West Brom on Friday afternoon.

However, news of the new deal – Robson-Kanu’s current contract was due to expire in the summer and he’s now got an extra year that could see him back in the Premier League again – hasn’t gone down brilliantly with all Baggies fans.
