View: 28-year-old back to fitness but could miss out - West Brom predicted XI v Middlesbrough

OPINION

Slaven Bilic is predicted to name an unchanged starting line-up for West Brom’s Championship clash against Middlesbrough at The Riverside on Saturday afternoon.

West Brom fans have enjoyed seeing themselves sit top of the standings over the international break after their impressive 4-2 victory against Cardiff at the start of the month.

Ahmed Hegazi returned to fitness over the break as the 28-year-old played 90 minutes for Egypt in their 1-0 win against Botswana on Monday but with Bartley and Ajayi forging a decent partnership in the middle of the back-four, Bilic could avoid disrupting any momentum and name an unchanged side for the trip to Boro.

Sam Johnstone is predicted to start in goals behind an unchanged back-four of Darnell Furlong, Ajayi, Bartley and Nathan Ferguson, whose impressive form at left-back is likely to keep Kieran Gibbs on the bench yet again.

Romaine Sawyers scored his first goal for the Baggies in that win over Cardiff and it would be a surprise if he was not joined by Jake Livermore in the centre of the midfield on Teesside this weekend.

Albion’s attacking midfield trio has been in a rich vein of form lately, so Matty Phillips, Matheus Pereira and Grady Diangana are all predicted to start in their usual roles with Charlie Austin on his own up front after he bagged his first league goal in blue and white stripes last time out.

In other West Brom news, Middlesbrough have been dealt with an injury to one of their strikers ahead of Saturday’s match.
