‘Stepped up’ – These West Brom fans react to 30y/o after display v Middlesbrough
West Brom striker Hal Robson-Kanu capped off a memorable few days with the winning goal in the 1-0 victory against Middlesbrough on Saturday.
He had signed a one-year extension on his current deal on Friday, which left many Baggies fans bemused.
However, he started paying the club back immediately on Saturday, finishing from close range into the bottom-right corner of the net.
It was a big win against Boro and it keeps the Baggies at the top of the table, with Leeds also winning by the same margin against Birmingham.
Sam Johnstone took a lot of the plaudits, with some fantastic saves ensuring that Slaven Bilic’s men kept that all-important clean sheet.
But, after questioning why Robson-Kanu was getting a new contract last week, it was time for the fans to acknowledge what he can add from the bench. He came on in the 62nd minute on Saturday, with Charlie Austin not getting any service.
