‘Leeds fans weren’t having it’ – Adrian Durham raves about West Brom ace

West Brom star Romaine Sawyers is a “Premier League player” playing in the wrong division, according to talkSPORT host Adrian Durham.

Sawyers has been in superb form for the Baggies so far this season, scoring one goal and supplying one assist in 16 appearances across all competitions while stats by WhoScored show that the 28-year-old’s 1044 passes is bettered by no other midfielder in the Championship.

Durham is a character who is well known to West Brom supporters for his comments about Darren Moore’s dismissal in March but on this occasion, the talkSPORT broadcaster has been full of praise for Albion’s midfield playmaker and has tipped the Black Country side for promotion.

“This is the guy I was wowing about last week on the show. Leeds fans weren’t having it. He’s a Premier League player in the wrong division. Soon to be rectified,” said Durham via his personal Twitter account on Tuesday after West Brom won 2-0 at Stoke.

Sawyers was easily the man of the match against Stoke on Monday night as West Brom returned to the top of the Championship table with three points.

The former Walsall and Brentford ace has become a mainstay of Slaven Bilic’s midfield since his return to The Hawthorns in the summer and it seems as though he is playing a huge role in Albion’s bid to return to the top-flight at the second time of asking.

In other West Brom news, fans have been blown away by this player’s transformation under Bilic.
