View: Duo to earn first league starts of season - West Brom predicted XI v Sheff Weds

Slaven Bilic is predicted to make two changes to the West Brom starting line-up ahead of his side’s meeting with Sheffield United at The Hawthorns on Saturday afternoon.

Jake Livermore and Romaine Sawyers are both suspended after the two midfielders picked up their fifth bookings of the season in the 1-0 win away at Hull before the international break.

It seems likely that Chris Brunt will earn his first Championship start of the season while Semi Ajayi could be pushed forward into the midfield with Ahmed Hegazi returning to the defence for the first time since the play-off semi-finals in May.

Bilic has several options to play in the centre of the midfield.

Brunt seems to be an obvious pick but Gareth Barry is unlikely to be fully fit and the Baggies boss does not seem to have as much faith in Rekeem Harper as Darren Moore and Jimmy Shan did.

Filip Krovinovic is another option but the Croatian playmaker has made a good impact when coming off the bench in recent weeks so Bilic could try to keep that option open.

Losing Livermore in the midfield means that Albion are also going to lose some cover for their defence, so Ajayi seems as though he is the most likely replacement for the ex-Hull man while Brunt is probably seen as a straight swap for Sawyers.

As for the rest of the team, Sam Johnstone is expected to start in goals with Hegazi joining Darnell Furlong, Kyle Bartley and Conor Townsend to make up the back-four.

Brunt and Ajayi could hold down the deeper-lying midfield roles with Matt Phillips, Matheus Pereira and Grady Diangana ahead of them in the more advanced positions.

Hal Robson-Kanu is West Brom’s in-form striker at the moment and is predicted to keep hold of his spot in Bilic’s starting line-up.

In other West Brom news, Albion have signed a young striker to add to their youth squad.
