View: West Brom predicted XI v Birmingham

West Brom manager Slaven Bilic is predicted to make four changes to his starting line-up ahead of Saturday afternoon’s derby showdown with Birmingham City at St Andrew’s.

Albion’s six-match winning streak came to an end on Wednesday night when they were held to a 1-1 draw by struggling Wigan.

Bilic opted to switch things up for that match and rested several key players.

However he is expected to revert to what is widely seen as West Brom’s best available line-up for the trip to St Andrew’s this weekend.

Darnell Furlong, Matheus Pereira, Grady Diangana and Hal Robson-Kanu are all predicted to come back into the starting line-up with Conor Townsend, Filip Krovinovic, Kyle Edwards and Charlie Austin dropping out.

Sam Johnstone, who scored an own goal at Wigan but put in a a man-of-the-match-worthy shift, is expected to stay in goals behind a back-four of Furlong, Semi Ajayi, Kyle Bartley and Nathan Ferguson, who could switch to the left due to the Kieran Gibbs’s injury.

Jake Livermore and Romaine Sawyers have been ever-presents in the centre of the midfield and are both expected to keep their spots.

Matt Phillips is likely to line up on the right-hand side of the attack once more with Diangana on the left and Pereira in between them.

Austin scored from an indirect free-kick inside the penalty area at Wigan but Robson-Kanu is still West Brom’s most in-form striker and is likely to start ahead of the former Southampton man.

In other West Brom news, fans were thrilled with one player’s display at Wigan on Wednesday night.
