‘West Brom’s the one for me’ – Kevin Phillips claims Bilic has issue over ‘crucial player’
Kevin Phillips has claimed that West Brom have many issues that need to be solved after yet another disappointing display against Cardiff City.
The Baggies legend admitted the loss of Grady Diangana has been a big blow, but questioned what went wrong in Wales after the recent FA Cup win over West Ham.
Phillips was discussing the Championship promotion race and admitted that his former side can’t get a win right now in the league.
“West Brom’s the one for me,” he said on The Debate.
“They go to West Ham at the weekend, they make changes – combined age of midfield, Barry and Brunt, 73 and they win the game.
“They go to Cardiff tonight, they probably changed the team again, can’t get a win. He’s got Diangana, who’s a crucial player out.
“There’s some issues now for Slaven to raise them players.”
Phillips is spot on. The loss of Diangana has been critical, the Baggies have only won once in the league since he picked up an injury back in December.
It is getting more serious by the week, with Nottingham Forest going two points behind West Brom after their win on Tuesday night.
In a recent graph by WyScout based on expected points, it was revealed that Bilic’s men were performing well above their expected league position – something that is starting to catch up with them and quickly.
In other West Brom news, the Baggies are targeting a £10million permanent deal with Premier League club now willing to sell
