View: Robinson shines on West Brom debut, Diangana might have something to worry about
Callum Robinson was one of the stand-out players for West Brom on Saturday as they won 2-0 against Graeme Jones’ Luton Town at The Hawthorns.
The 25-year-old attacker, who was signed on loan from Sheffield United last week, made his debut in front of the home crowd in the Black Country and offered a very good first impression.
Donervon Daniels’ own goal in the first half, which was forced by a well-executed low cross into the penalty area by Robinson, led to the Baggies taking the lead before the on-loan winger pressed for a goal of his own after the break.
Robinson saw a long-rage effort strike the top of the crossbar after it took a deflection off a Luton defender.
A debut goal in front of the Birmingham Road End would have been as good as it gets for a new arrival at The Hawthorns but unfortunately, it wasn’t to be.
Robinson’s performance was very impressive and it bodes well for the remainder of his loan spell at West Brom.
The former Aston Villa player’s display could also offer Grady Diangana something to worry about.

Diangana, 21, has been one of the best players for the Baggies this season but he is currently sidelined for at least the next few weeks due to injury.
Before Luton visited The Hawthorns on Saturday, Albion had not won a Championship game in which Diangana hadn’t featured since his arrival on loan from West Ham, which just shows the level of impact Robinson has already made.
According to stats by WhoScored, the on-loan Sheffield United ace made one key pass, completed 85 per cent of his passes, has six shots at goal with three being on target and even contributed off the ball as he made three interceptions.
Kyle Edwards has been Albion’s left-sided winger while Diangana was injured before Robinson’s arrival but the youngster has really struggled in recent weeks with WhoScored showing that he hadn’t even made a key pass in his last four league outings.

Robinson has only made one appearance for West Brom and it was against the worst team in the Championship at The Hawthorns.
However if he continues to perform that way then by the time Diangana is back from injury, Slaven Bilic is going to have one big call to make on who starts out on the left-wing.
