Some West Brom fans rave about ‘by far our best player’ v Swansea: ‘Immense’
West Brom may have dropped to second in the Championship standings on Saturday but at least Semi Ajayi’s performance gave fans a reason to smile in the 0-0 draw with Swansea.
Albion dropped points for the second league match in a row at the Liberty Stadium as both them and the Swans squandered several chances to get on the scoresheet.
Jay Fulton missed two golden opportunities for Swansea while the Baggies could have bagged goals through Darnell Furlong and Jake Livermore, who blazed the ball over the crossbar late in the game when he really should have done better.
Still, Swansea are a decent team who have aspirations of finishing in the play-offs so to earn a point in South Wales and keep a clean sheet isn’t the worst of results.
It also helped that Fulham and Nottingham Forest dropped points over the game week but the wins for Leeds and Brentford have caused some fans to worry.
But that can’t be said for all fans as plenty were delighted with what they saw from Ajayi on Saturday.
The 26-year-old defender was a colossus in the defence, breaking down Swansea attacks while also using his superb on-the-ball skills to keep things calm and composed when in possession.
West Brom fans were full of praise for the Nigeria international on Twitter and here is a selection of their tweets:
