Exclusive: Phillips names two Liverpool players who West Brom should sign on loan
We’re delighted to welcome former West Brom striker Kevin Phillips as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the biggest talking points at The Hawthorns…
Kevin Phillips has said that if West Brom win promotion to the Premier League, they should pursue deals to sign Liverpool duo Rhian Brewster and Curtis Jones on loan.
Brewster, 20, has never played in England’s top-flight but has done well while on loan at Swansea since January, scoring four goals in 11 appearances.
The England Under-21 striker is one of the most highly-rated young players in the Liverpool squad but midfielder Jones, 19, is equally as impressive.

Jones has broken through into the Liverpool first-team this season, earning eight appearances in all competitions and scoring two goals in the process, which came against Everton and Shrewsbury in the FA Cup.
Although Phillips would like to see West Brom improve their squad by signing players on permanent deals ahead of next season, he wouldn’t begrudge them for bringing in the odd loan signing like Brewster or Jones.
“Ideally, when you go into the Premier League, you would like to bring permanent signings in if you can, coupled with one or two like a Brewster or Curtis Jones,” Phillips told West Brom News.
“Those types of players can come in and you can bed them in gradually but generally, you would like to bring permanent signings in.”

Both Brewster and Jones would be good additions to the West Brom side.
Brewster has proven at Swansea that he has a lot of potential and he could be a good back-up option for the Baggies as they aim to strengthen their strikeforce for next season.
Jones can play in the centre of the midfield or out on the left-wing.
He can score goals, supply assists and has already stepped up in big occasions for Liverpool as he scored the winner in the Merseyside derby against Everton.
Albion would be very lucky to have either of these players on loan.
