‘Going to be a bit of suffering’ – Robson-Kanu sends message to EFL over ‘Unfair’ solution

West Brom forward Hal Robson-Kanu has called on the EFL to make a definitive decision on the season as soon as possible.

Albion returned to training last week but are yet to be told they can return to full-contact training by the EFL, even though the Premier League will take that step this Monday.

West Brom and Championship promotion rivals Leeds have made it clear that they want to complete the season by playing all nine of their remaining fixtures but if that cannot happen, the EFL will resort to using points-per-game to decide the final standings.

However Baggies top-scorer Robson-Kanu does not think that will be fair on everyone, even if it would hand his side automatic promotion.

“There’s still a lot of uncertainty from the structures and the establishments that need to make a decision,” Robson-Kanu told talkSPORT, as quoted by LeedsLive.

“Hopefully as we continue to progress, there’ll be more clarity.

“There needs to be some definitive decisions made, which can hopefully be stuck to regardless.

“Is points per game the fairest way? It may be the fairest solution, but it’ll be unfair for some teams who haven’t played their full games and may or may not be relegated.

“Somewhere is going to be a bit of suffering – there will be teams who don’t get the decision they wanted.”

Albion have always taken the stance that they want to finish the season on the pitch but let’s face it, we would accept winning promotion if it was via points-per-game.

We have to hold our hands up though and say it would be a very good PR move by the Baggies to vote to continue the season.

But if they could vote anonymously, what do you think they would do?

In other West Brom news, Albion have been tipped to sign this Bournemouth player in the summer transfer window.
