Deon Burton has been in temporary charge of the Premier League 2 side since Michael Appleton left to over at Lincoln City in September.
James Morrison has recently been hired as the assistant manager for the Under-23s and now, fans want to see Phillips join Mozza in the coaching set-up.
Here is a selection of their tweets:
I'd take Phillips in a heartbeat…
Came through the ranks after rejection, which long term, only builds character and a sense of grounding..
Sets high standards, seems empathetic, and if ANYONE wants to learn HOW to finish, no better example in my life time as a Baggie fan…

Get him in ASAP

Get. Him. In.
No brainer at all and someone who worked hard through different leagues would encourage and motivate the younger players.
Not many better finishers in the game as Super Kev

Phillips seems to tick all the boxes.
He’s coached at Stoke, Leicester and Derby, he doesn’t live too far away from West Brom and he is one of the best forwards Albion have had in the 21st century.
It is no shock at all to see these fans urging the club to hire Super Kev and we’d love to see him team up alongside Morrison in the Under-23s set-up.
