'Unbelievable' - Many West Brom fans wowed by player who turned into 'Prime Ronaldinho' v United
West Brom fans have been raving about Kyle Edwards after the attacker chipped in with a goal and an assist in the two warm-up matches against Manchester United on Friday.
Edwards, 22, has played an important role for Slaven Bilic this season with him appearing 30 times in all competitions, scoring two goals and supplying four assists in the process.
However, before the Championship season was suspended, Edwards had played in just one of eight league fixtures.
But the Dudley-born forward has done his chances of returning to the first-team squad the world of good with a sumptuous assist for Kenneth Zohore’s goal at Old Trafford before he bagged a sweet goal of his own by placing a shot past David De Gea.
After seeing footage of Edwards’ performance against Man United, West Brom fans were delighted with what they saw.
One even urged the Bilic to re-instate Edwards into the starting line-up but the Baggies boss has a wealth of winger options to choose from once the season restarts with Grady Diangana back to fitness.
Kamil Grosicki scored against Aston Villa last week to add to Bilic’s selection headache while Matt Phillips couldn’t even get a start pre-lockdown.
Edwards might have to continue being patient once the season restarts but the congested fixture schedule could force Bilic into rotating his squad.
That doesn’t take anything away from the ‘King of Dudley’ impressing against Man United though and Albion fans have made their delight clear.
