It has been a whirlwind month for West Brom youngster Callum Morton as his loan spell at Northampton came to an end on Tuesday.
The Baggies forward was pivotal behind sealing promotion to League One for the Cobblers through the play-offs.
Morton scored twice in the play-off semi-finals and once at Wembley on Monday as Keith Curle’s side smashed Exeter 4-0 on the biggest stage.
Morton shared a message on his personal Twitter account after helping his loan side seal promotion on Monday.
“We’ve only gone and done it,” he wrote on Tuesday.
“What a group! We are going up!”

Northampton wouldn’t have done it without Morton either, as they famously turned around a two-goal deficit against Cheltenham in the second leg thanks to two strikes from the Baggies starlet.
Morton will return to the Hawthorns a different player after the experience, but could he still have a role to play in the Championship under Slaven Bilic this season?
The answer to that is very unlikely. The Athletic’s Steve Madeley delivered an update on the future of the 20-year-old.
Morton wants to carry on playing senior football rather than featuring heavily for the under-23s next season with the Baggies.
West Brom are planning to open talks over a new contract after the Wembley success, with many Championship and League One clubs interested in a loan move – time will tell.
It seems that Morton would struggle to break into Bilic’s immediate plans especially in the Premier League, so we expect another loan move for the impressive youngster.
