Former Leeds player David Prutton has predicted that West Brom will continue their winless run against Sheffield Wednesday this week.
Albion travel to Hillsborough on Wednesday having failed to win and failed to score in their last four Championship games.
Last Friday, the Baggies lost 1-0 to Brentford and dropped off the top spot in the Championship and fell to within five points of the Bees.
That gap could be two points by the time West Brom kick off at Sheffield Wednesday with Brentford playing Reading the night before so a big result in Yorkshire would be a huge boost.
However, Sky Sports pundit Prutton can only see Slaven Bilic’s side getting a 1-1 draw.
“Sheffield Wednesday were really good in large parts of the game against Bristol City on Sunday, and looked as though they were the side really chasing the play-offs,” Prutton wrote on the Sky Sports website.
“West Brom will be concerned now. Another defeat and the gap to third could be closed again. They are struggling for goals, too, and I think they will be held by Wednesday.”
Sheffield Wednesday should not be a side that West Brom are scared of and one that they should not respect too much.
However it has to be noted that the Owls impressed in their win at the weekend and pose a threat at set-pieces, which could be an issue for Albion, who have been weak at defending corners for most of the season.
Bilic has to have been working overtime on defending set-pieces and trying to get his team to score goals in the last few days.
A team that is second in the Championship should not be on a run of four games without a goal and that must come to an end at Hillsborough.
We predict the Baggies to win 1-0.
In other West Brom news, Bilic is eyeing up a move for this West Ham defender.
