Finn Azaz has confirmed that he has signed a new contract to extend his stay at West Brom after an impressive season for the Under-23s.
Azaz, 19, has made 14 appearances in Premier League 2 this season, scoring two goals and supplying three assists from the midfield.
His contract was due to expire at the end of the month but after doing so well for Albion’s Under-23s side this term, the club has reached a fresh new agreement with the young attacking midfielder.
Azaz shared an image of himself signing his contract on his personal Twitter account, as well as writing: “Great to sign a new contract at West Brom. I certainly haven’t got here alone and all I can do is thank my family, friends and coaches who help me.”

West Brom’s Under-23s have had a good season in Premier League 2 with them sitting third in Division Two, behind only West Ham and Manchester United.
Azaz has played a key role for most of the campaign under Deon Burton’s charge with him even being handed the captain’s armband for wins against Middlesbrough and Sunderland.
Not many fans will have heard of Azaz but he is certainly one to watch for the future based on how well he’s performed this term and it would not be a shock to see him start to train with the first-team or get sent out on loan for the 2020/21 campaign.
As Azaz has only played Under-23s football for West Brom this season, it is hard to find too many stats about his performances by WyScout does feature his display against Manchester United in December.
Although the Baggies lost 3-1, Azaz managed to complete a decent 73 per cent of his passes and attempt four passes into the penalty area with two of them being accurate.
In comparison, Filip Krovinovic has attempted only 1.98 passes into the box per 90 minutes of Championship football this term and his success ratio is only fractionally better than Azaz’s at 54.3 per cent.
Azaz has a long way to go but getting him tied down for the foreseeable future is a great move by West Brom and hopefully he can continue to impress next season.
