Jeff Stelling has backed West Brom to pick up a vital win against in-form Sheffield Wednesday on Wednesday evening.
The Baggies face-off against the Owls having picked up just one point from a possible six since the Championship got back underway.
That untimely dip in form has allowed Brentford to close the gap on the automatic promotion places to just two points.
It’s not all doom and gloom, however, and Albion will know that they can open up a five point lead over the Bees – as well as closing the gap on league leaders Leeds United to just one point – if they beat Wednesday.
That in itself will be no easy task, with Garry Monk’s men halting a dreadful run of form with a draw against Nottingham Forest and a win against Bristol City in recent weeks.
But Stelling remains optimistic about the Baggies picking up all three points.
Speaking to Sky Sports, the presenter predicted a 2-0 win.
Alongside Stelling, Charlie Nicholas, Matt Le Tissier, and Phil Thompson also issued their predictions.
Thompson went for a 1-0 Albion win, while both Nicholas and Le Tissier opted for 1-1 draws.
This is an absolute must-win game for West Brom.
Not only do we desperately need to get the points on the board, but we also need to stop the rot in terms of our form too.
Losing to Brentford on Friday was a hammer blow, especially considering the fact that it followed on from a 0-0 draw with Birmingham City.
It feels as if confidence is at a bit of a low, and the last thing we need right now is for self-doubt to creep in.
Posting a good performance and a timely win against the Owls would go a long way towards turning things around.
