Many West Brom fans blast ‘Shocking’ player v Sheff Weds: ‘Don’t know what’s wrong with him’
Some West Brom fans might be regretting what they tweeted about Matheus Pereira on Wednesday night.
Pereira, 24, has absolutely torn up the Championship at times this season but, at times, he has not looked himself since the campaign started up again last month.
He was not that great at all in the first half against Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Wednesday night and that led to him being criticised by sections of the Albion support on social media.
However, in the 58th minute, the Brazilian attacker was heading the Baggies into a 2-0 lead before doubling his tally for the night in the 85th minute with a sweet, left-footed shot.
It was Pereira’s seventh and eighth goals since joining the Baggies on loan from Sporting CP in the summer and most fans are delighted that he’ll be joining the club permanently as soon as he can be registered.
But that didn’t stop some fans from slamming the 24-year-old for his performance against Sheffield Wednesday, even though we agree that despite his goals, he was not completely at his best.
It just shows that a half-good Pereira is still a danger to any team.

This next tweet is something we cannot agree with at all – even if Pereira was having a bad game against the Owls up until his goal.
All good players have poor runs of form as it is just part of being a football.
Pereira is the best player in the Championship and he’s ours. He deserves more respect than this.
