West Brom academy staff member set to quit, club advertising for replacement – report
West Brom head of academy sports science and medicine Nick Irwin is set to quit his role at the club, according to Training Ground Guru.
The news outlet reports that Irwin is leaving The Hawthorns in order to become the medical performance support auditor for the Professional Game Academy Audit Company.
Irwin was appointed by West Brom in November 2018 and has previously held roles at Watford, Millwall and Cambridge.
It is understood that the Baggies are now advertising to replace him in yet another change to the academy set-up at the club.

Since Luke Dowling became West Brom’s technical director, there have been a lot of changes behind the scenes at the club’s training ground.
Steve Hopcroft, Mark Harrison, Mike Scott, James Shan and Mark Naylor are among those to leave the club during Dowling’s tenure and Irwin’s name can now be added to that list.
It remains to be seen whether or not Dowling’s shake-up of the club’s youth structure will improve things going forward by West Brom’s academy is something that fans have been proud of for years.
It could go wrong or it could get drastically better but based on the improvements Dowling has overseen in the first-team, we’re willing to give him the benefit of the doubt for now.
In other West Brom news, fans have urged the club to sign this former England international who’s now a free agent.
