Grady Diangana shares significant injury update on himself after going off v Derby

Grady Diangana was forced off the pitch as West Brom beat Derby 2-0 at The Hawthorns on Wednesday evening.

The 22-year-old put Albion ahead early on to score his second goal in as many games but there were fears about his fitness in the second half when he was taken off to be replaced by Callum Robinson.

Diangana has spent a lot of 2020 recovering from a hamstring injury and it seemed as though he may have suffered a recurrence of that injury when Slaven Bilic opted to substitute him against the Rams.

However, in a major boost for the Baggies, Diangana has confirmed on Instagram that he has “no injury” when asked by a fan.

Diangana didn’t look fully up to speed in his performances against Birmingham, Brentford and Sheffield Wednesday but he has gradually got better, gradually improved his match fitness and is now playing a starring role for West Brom once again.

The England Under-21 international has scored seven goals and supplied six assists in 26 Championship appearances while on loan at The Hawthorns this season.

It is clear that the Baggies missed his influence during December and January before Robinson was brought in to provide cover on the left-wing.

If Diangana has to miss any more games due to injury then it would be a blow but it would not be the end of the world with someone like Robinson able to come in and replace him.

It remains to be seen if the West Ham loan star can play against Blackburn this weekend or whether Slaven Bilic will rest him.

In other West Brom news, Albion fans have hit out at Nathan Ferguson for his tweet about the latest contract news at The Hawthorns.
