It has been a great season for West Brom, who have quickly forgotten about their slump at the end of the campaign.

The Baggies were promoted to the Premier League, despite failing to win any of their last four Championship games last season.

None of that matters now, with fans and everyone alike only concentrating on the positive moments and automatic promotion.

With the action finished for now on the pitch, all eyes are now on matters of the pitch looking back on what has been an amazing campaign.

Players such as Matheus Pereira have been rightly rewarded for their efforts, becoming a star under Slaven Bilic in the Championship.

One area that might not have been the most effective in the Midlands has been the final third, with Charlie Austin and Hal Robson-Kanu struggling at times.

Austin has been rewarded though, picking up the Goal of the Season award for his effort in the dramatic win over Birmingham.

The forward reacted to the award on his personal Twitter account, sending a four-word message to the fans who voted for the award.

“Thank you very much,” he wrote.

It was a great strike in a fiercely-contested award, with goals such as Pereira’s freekick against Bristol City also catching the eye.

It is unclear whether or not Austin will have a similar role in the Premier League next season, with Bilic certain to want another striker in the transfer window.

The 31-year-old made 34 appearances last season, but 16 of those were off the bench and he only managed to scrape 10 goals in the end.

Time will tell, but if Austin can recreate strikes like the one at Birmingham, West Brom won’t be in bad hands next season.
