Callum Robinson has taken to Instagram to send a message to fellow West Brom loanee Matheus Pereira.
The pair both enjoyed successful loan spells with the Baggies last season, and both played their part in helping Albion secure a return to the Premier League.
Despite that, neither one has seen any kind of concrete announcement on their future.
Pereira is expected to sign a permanent contract after triggering an appearance clause in his loan deal from Benfica, while Sheffield United manager Chris Wilder has given a fairly vague answer on what next season is likely to entail for Robinson.
At this specific moment in time, however, West Brom’s promotion heroes are still celebrating their success with a well-earned break.
And Pereira showed off his current surroundings on his Instagram with a photo of himself on a boat enjoying a stunning sunset.
The Brazilian accompanied the post with the caption: “The heavens declare the glory of God; And the firmament showeth his handiwork.
Responding to that comment, Robinson replied: “Energy energy”, alongside a shooting star emoji and a laughing face.
We can all but assume that Pereira’s future lies at The Hawthorns at this stage, but as for Robinson, things are less clear.
At the very least, however, you would have to say that he has earned himself a permanent deal, surely.
Not only did he produce a match-defining performance against QPR in the final game of the season, but he also registered a higher xG and higher dribble success rate than Grady Diangana this season, as per Wyscout, and has looked like a bright, pacy deputy to bolster Slaven Bilic’s forward line whenever and wherever he has been needed.
Posts like this just throw further substance to the impression that he has fully integrated himself into the squad at The Hawthorns, and honestly, we think it would be a real shame if he didn’t return next term – even if it was just for another loan spell.
