‘Surely not’, ‘Looks like a glitch’ – Many WBA fans baffled by one player on updated squad list

With the Premier League season nearly one month away, West Brom will be looking to conduct their transfer business swiftly.

Slaven Bilic will want to add to his squad in critical areas and will need to strengthen in the final third and in defence.

There have been a number of transfer rumours already, but Albion are yet to confirm any new signings, although there is still plenty of time for that to happen.

One of the strangest things of the transfer window so far appears to have involved West Brom, with eagled-eyed fans noticing what they described as a “glitch” on their website.

Former Baggie, Isaiah Brown has been added to their squad list on their official website and fans have flocked to Twitter to react.

Brown has endured a strange couple of seasons recently, having sealed loan moves to both Leeds and Luton in the Championship.

In that first season with this year’s Championship winners, the Chelsea midfielder hardly stepped onto the pitch and was often destroyed by fans for his limited role.

The 23-year-old then moved to the Hatters and impressed – finishing the season with Hatters’ highest WhoScored average match rating in the squad.

Why would Brown be on West Brom’s official squad list though? Many Baggies fans have reacted to the update, with the majority hoping that it was just a mistake.

Some recalled the “disrespectful” way Brown left the academy to join Chelsea, and couldn’t forgive him for that.
