West Brom confirmed the news on Tuesday afternoon that attacking sensation Rico Richards has signed his first professional deal at the club.
The 16-year-old has put pen-to-paper on a three-year contract at the Hawthorns, to put an end to any speculation surrounding his future.
Richards has been training with the under-23s and first-team squad for the past year, and was even rewarded with a spot on the bench in the FA Cup win over Charlton last season.
It was confirmed by the Baggies that the young attacker spurned a number of advances from top Premier League clubs.
The Express and Star had reported back in November 2019 that the Albion had been trying to secure the future of Richards, and although it took nearly a year, they got there in the end.
In that same report, it was suggested that the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal were interested in Richards.
It is credit to the Baggies board that they have able to keep Richards, and avoid another exit similar to the Louie Barry saga.
With Richards having already trained with the first-team and under-23s, he will be looking to cement his spot in one of those sides next season.
Rayhaan Tulloch has also signed a new deal, and he will be pushing for the first-team – leaving a spot in the under-23s squad.
Many Baggies fans have reacted to the news of Richards’ new deal, and have been blown away by their progress to tie down another one of their sensations.

Big future this lad has. Let’s hope we are now going to realise that these kids can come through the ranks and make us big money if they deliver on there potential so it’s win win. Looking forward to see how Rico progresses
