West Brom player rubbishes transfer story about himself
Kamil Grosicki has made it clear that he is not going anywhere after reports in Turkey surfaced to say that a deal was in place for the West Brom attacker to join Besiktas.
BeINSPORTS reported that Grosicki, 32, had agreed to join the Turkish club despite only joining the Baggies from Hull City in January.
The Polish winger’s Instagram story showed that he had flown out to Istanbul with his wife on Saturday which did add further weight to the claims that the Turkish media were making.
However, Grosicki has now taken to his personal Twitter account to clarify why he is in Istanbul – and it’s not to join Besiktas.
“I am in Istanbul and I have a good time with my wife. Nothing else happens,” said Grosicki in one tweet.
He also added: “I’m not going anywhere.”
Whenever we report anything from the Turkish media on this website, we always advise readers to take stories with a pinch of salt.
In this case, we thought that beIN SPORTS was a reputable enough broadcaster to have gotten something right – especially with Grosicki currently in Turkey.
However, that is clearly not the case and whoever wrote that story was simply putting two and two together, linking Grosicki with Besiktas because Slaven Bilic used to manage them.
