View: West Ham player speaks out as Irons squad look to influence Grady Diangana

It has been made no secret that West Brom would like to sign Grady Diangana permanently this summer.

The Hammers winger played a key role at the Hawthorns last season, but did impress David Moyes back at the London Stadium.

Diangana did feature for West Ham against Ipswich Town over the past weekend, setting up some goals in the 5-1 victory.

The Daily Mail has recently reported that it would cost up to £15million to sign Diangana, who wants assurances over his future.

Members of West Ham’s squad have made their thoughts clear over the winger, with Sebastien Haller speaking out on Saturday.

“It’s nice for us to have a kind of player like Grady,” he said, via Birmingham Live.

“Everyone knows the quality he has and then he went on loan to West Brom and everyone knows he performed pretty well. We are all happy to have him here and we are going to try to use his quality and strength, me most of all.”

The Athletic’s Steve Madeley reported on Wednesday that the Baggies had agreed a club-record £17million fee to sign QPR’s Eberechi Eze.

It was also suggested that his likely destination remains in London though, making that switch unlikely.

If the Baggies could pay that for Eze, surely they have the funds to bring in Diangana though, and out wide should be much more of a priority than central areas.

Haller and the Irons squad are clearly trying to influence the winger, and that could have a massive say on where he ends up, with West Ham likely to keep hold of their player as it stands.
