Sun journo: This is how West Brom could strike ‘discount’ deal for Diangana this summer

West Brom could do a “discount for cash” deal to bring Grady Diangana back to The Hawthorns this summer, according to The Sun reporter Alan Nixon.

The Baggies are understood to be keen on securing another deal for the winger, who impressed during his loan spell with the club last season.

With suggestions that Slaven Bilic will have just £20-30 million to spend on players this summer, however, there has been some doubt over whether or not a permanent deal would be financially viable for Albion.

But Nixon has suggested that the Coronavirus pandemic and its effects on the transfer market could allow the Baggies to negotiate a deal that was structured in a more affordable way.

Writing on his personal Twitter account, when asked by a fan if Diangana returning to West Brom was a realistic hope this summer, the journalist said: “Would depend on structure of a deal.

“Cash is king right now. So could do a discount for cash job.

“Or more guaranteed over 3-4 years.”

This is actually pretty promising from Nixon.

Granted, he’s not giving us a concrete update on talks between West Brom and West Ham, but at the very least he is offering up a realistic solution to the issue which could be mutually beneficial for both parties.

Earlier this summer, Football Insider reported that the Hammers would ask for a fee of around £20 million for Diangana this summer.

Even if that was discounted down to £15 million in an immediate cash deal it would surely be a lot more palatable for the Baggies.

As long as the transfer window is open, and as long as we’re hearing updates like this, we have to hold on to some hope that a deal could be struck for the winger.
