West Brom have bid rejected for 19-goal striker – report

West Brom had opened talks with Huddersfield Town over the signing of Karlan Grant at the beginning of this week.

Sky Sports journalist Rob Dorsett shared that Carlos Corberan and the Terriers rated the striker at £16million in this window.

Slaven Bilic is looking to add to his squad in the final third, with question marks over both Charlie Austin and Hal Robson-Kanu in the Premier League.

There were no updates claiming that West Brom had actually bid for the striker, but that appears to have changed on Wednesday.

The Telegraph’s John Percy has reported on his personal Twitter account that the Baggies have seen a bid rejected by Huddersfield for Grant.

With the Albion also seeing an offer up to £18million accepted for Grady Diangana, it is hard to believe that the offer for Grant would have been anywhere close.

Grant scored 19 goals in the Championship and proved he has the eye for goal in a side that was struggling for the majority of the season.

Kevin Phillips exclusively highlighted his doubts over a potential move for Grant, claiming that the forward wouldn’t improve the current squad at the Hawthorns.

At £16million, Phillips claimed that it would be a massive gamble for both Bilic and the Baggies to take on a player with little Premier League experience.

The Albion clearly want another striker, and this rejected bid could see them look elsewhere – we wait and see.
