West Brom could finalise another signing within days, selling club expects deal – report

Benfica are expecting to say their farewells to Filip Krovinovic within the coming days with the midfielder set to return to West Brom on a loan-to-buy basis, according to A Bola.

The Portuguese news outlet claims that Krovinovic, 24, will return to The Hawthorns for a second consecutive season but Albion will have the obligation to sign the Croatian midfielder permanently next summer.

A Bola does not report how much the Baggies will pay for Krovinovic but it has been widely reported that Benfica want around £9million for the playmaker and the Premier League club only want to pay £5.4million [Record].

After a quiet start to the transfer window, West Brom have certainly ramped up their efforts to bring players to The Hawthorns.

Although Matheus Pereira, Grady Diangana, Callum Robinson and Krovinovic are not new faces, they all played major roles in the promotion-winning campaign last season and at least getting them back ensures the squad is not worse than it was in the Championship.

Cedric Kipre and David Button are the only fresh faces at The Hawthorns but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing because it ensures Slaven Bilic has a squad of players who know each other well, know the system and are proven to be able to win matches.

However, there are no arguments that West Brom need a new striker.

As it stands, there is no one in that team who can score enough goals to guide a team to Premier League survival.

Karlan Grant seems to be top of Bilic’s shopping list at the moment.

A team with Diangana and Pereira either side of Grant with Krovinovic creating in behind them sounds like one that should be able to stay up.

In other West Brom news, Darren Moore has won the race to sign this highly-rated Albion youngster.
