West Brom have the perfect chance to bounce back from their opening-day Premier League defeat to Leicester on Wednesday.

The Baggies were swept aside 3-0 at the Hawthorns, and will now welcome League Two side Harrogate to the midlands in the Carabao Cup.

Slaven Bilic’s men crashed out in the first round of the cup last season after a 2-1 defeat to Millwall, and their Premier League status has seen them skip that same stage.

The Croatian made nine changes for that first-round clash last season, and the same is expected for the Harrogate game.

Birmingham Live journalist Joseph Chapman expects the Baggies to make 11 changes against the League Two side, with three potential debuts on the table.

“If Bilic was to opt for a line-up anything like our predicted side, then debuts – even if it’s a low-key cup game against League Two opponents – for David Button and Cedric Kipre would be significant check-points in their respective Albion careers,” he wrote.

“The potential inclusion of Lee Peltier, who has agreed a one-year extension, would also mean a debut for the utility man who didn’t make an appearance in his six months at the club last term.”

With new signings Cedric Kipre and David Button expected to start, Lee Peltier could become the third to make his Baggies debut.

Peltier joined back in January but didn’t feature for the club last season. That didn’t stop Bilic from handing the right-back a new one-year deal at the Baggies.

The former Leeds and Cardiff defender has featured heavily in pre-season, and with both Darnell Furlong and Dara O’Shea featuring against Leicester, it opens a spot at right-back for Peltier to feature.

With a game against Everton immediately around the corner, it would be no surprise to see Bilic hand out these debuts as well as eight other changes at the Hawthorns.
