West Brom could sign Conor Gallagher on loan from Chelsea in time for him to play against Everton this weekend, according to the Daily Mail.

Slaven Bilic’s side travel to Goodison Park to play the Toffees on Saturday as they aim to make amends for the disappointing 3-0 home defeat to Leicester.

And it seems that could make their way to Merseyside with yet another new player in the squad after the Baggies completed the signing of Branislav Ivanovic on a free transfer on Tuesday.

Gallagher, 20, spent last season on loan with Charlton and Swansea and looks set to be loaned out once more by Chelsea once he has put pen to paper on a new long-term contract at Stamford Bridge.

The Mail claims that Bilic has held a series of phone calls with Frank Lampard about the England Under-21 midfielder and the West Brom manager’s relationship with his former West Ham team-mate appears to have been fruitful.

Albion’s midfield lacked a lot of quality against Leicester.

Many will point to the fact that Bilic used an unfamiliar 3-4-3 formation against the Foxes while defensive errors led to his side conceding two penalties.

But the midfield failed to offer any decent protection for the back-three and seriously failed to offer any creative output for the attackers.

Romaine Sawyers and Jake Livermore have to prove a lot of doubters wrong with Sawyers attracting criticism in the Championship and Livermore still yet to win over fans who grew tired of his displays in the Premier League.

Everton did well to beat Tottenham at the weekend with players like James Rodrigez, Richardlison and Dominic Calvert-Lewin bound to cause plenty of issues for Bilic to think about.

Will Gallagher help allay some concerns if he arrives within the next few days? He’s certainly going to be a boost, that’s for sure.

In other West Brom news, three players could earn their Albion debuts against Harrogate on Wednesday.
