West Brom eventually confirmed the signing of free-agent defender Branislav Ivanovic on Tuesday afternoon.
The Serbian became available after his contract at Zenit St. Petersburg came to an end at the conclusion of last season.
Ivanovic has won most things in the game, including the Premier League and Champions League from his time at Chelsea.
The experienced defender won most things available to him in Russia too, including the league and cup double.
Zenit delivered a message to Ivanovic after his move was confirmed, wishing him the best of luck for his second run at the Premier League.
“Captain,” they wrote. “Best of luck at The Baggies, Branislav!”

When could we see Ivanovic make his debut?
Ivanovic’s arrival at the Hawthorns means that Slaven Bilic now has five central defenders available to him in the midlands.
After the 3-0 defeat against Leicester on Sunday, Bilic will be tempted to make changes to his fragile defence with three-at-the-back his new tactic.
New signing Cedric Kipre is likely to get his chance against Harrogate on Wednesday, although it may take some time for Ivanovic to come into the side.
Although the Serbian was training with the Baggies before his move was completed, Steve Madeley has claimed he may not make his debut until October.
That means he could miss games against Everton and Chelsea, and make his debut against Southampton at the beginning of next month.
We wait and see.
