'God no', 'Better be joking' - Many WBA fans fume at transfer report on 'awful' PL player
West Brom fans have taken to Twitter to express their disdain at being linked with a move for Aston Villa striker Mbwana Samatta.
According to The Sun, the Baggies are plotting to hijack a proposed loan move for the 27-year-old from Turkish side Fenerbahce.
It is understood that Slaven Bilic is keen on the forward, and could even be tempted into making a permanent move for him.
But it’s going to take a lot to convince Albion supporters that it’s the right decision, and you can understand why.
The Tanzania international hit just one goal in 14 Premier League appearances after signing for the Villans last term, and failed to score in his last 13 top flight outings for the club.
In fact, he was so poor during his spell at Villa Park that his shot accuracy, xG, and goals per game were all notably lower than Kenneth Zohore’s last term, as per Wyscout.
Is that really the sort of player we should be looking at to lead our survival bid this season?
We’re not so sure.
The fact that Villa are willing to ship him out having only signed him in January speaks volumes, and if we’re serious about staying in the top flight we can’t look to do that by giving second chances to our rivals’ cast-offs.
No offence to Samatta, but we sincerely hope this doesn’t happen.

Got a feeling this is purely to help Huddersfield into accepting our bid for Grant. This is not the guy to lead our line.

1 goal in 14 games is not what we need, I think even Robson Kanu will do better than that
