‘Easy decision’ – Player explains reason for choosing PL rival over West Brom move this summer

Eberechi Eze has claimed that it was an “easy decision” to opt for a move to Crystal Palace over West Brom this summer.

The playmaker left QPR for the Eagles in a deal worth around £19.5 million at the end of August.

But Albion tried to scupper the move with a late swoop of their own, only to be trumped by Roy Hodgson’s side.

Now, in an interview with talkSPORT, Eze has explained the reason for his decision to choose Selhurst Park.

He said: “It was the plan they [Palace] had.

“What they told me they thought of me, and what they could see me doing in the future.

“It clicked immediately with me and backed up the opinions I have of myself.

“It was an easy decision to make in the end.”

Eze is a top talent, there’s no doubt about it, and missing out on him was a sore blow to absorb for the Baggies.

Hopefully, however, the arrival of Connor Gallagher on loan from Chelsea can go some way towards easing the pain of losing out on the 22-year-old.

Gallagher registered just 0.01 fewer assists per game than Eze last term, and he actually made 1.61 more total actions per 90 minutes too, as per Wyscout.

The Blues youngster is a couple of years younger than the former QPR man, and with the right support this could be the year that he really kicks on his development.

In other West Brom news, Bilic confirmed an injury blow to one of his players after the win against Harrogate.
