Some West Brom fans want one player gone after Everton loss: ‘Get him out the club’, ‘Sell him’
West Brom fans are furious with left-back Kieran Gibbs for getting himself sent off in the 5-2 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.
Grady Diangana’s brilliant solo goal put the Baggies ahead early on but the Toffees put themselves 2-1 up when James Rodriguez scored in the 45th minute.
Moments later, Gibbs shoved the Colombia international in the face in an off-the-ball incident and was shown a straight red by referee Mike Dean.
Up until Gibbs was sent off, West Brom had actually played quite well and to be 2-1 down at half-time was quite harsh.
Slaven Bilic’s side were dangerous in the attack and could’ve been 2-0 up if the post didn’t deny Jake Livermore’s shot from finding the back of the net.
After the break, although Matheus Pereira scored a sublime free-kick to level the scores, it was obvious that West Brom were a man down and Everton went on to win the game with ease.
There are a lot of ifs and buts but you have to imagine what would’ve happened if Albion finished that match with 11 men on the pitch.
Gibbs’ act of stupid has not gone down at all well with West Brom fans on Twitter, with some even suggesting that the ex-Arsenal left-back is sold or has his contract terminated.
